I am a Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Sciences at the School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, University of Portsmouth. I did my PhD with Dr Elisa Marti, at the Molecular Institute of Molecular Biology in Barcelona. There, I uncovered how the morphogen Sonic Hedgehog coordinates growth, survival and patterning of the neural tube precursors. After that, I moved to London (UK) where I was a postdoc with Dr Elke Ober lab (MRC National Institute for Medical Research) and later with Dr David Wilkinson lab (The Francis Crick Institute). There, I studied the function and mechanisms of Eph/Ephrin signalling in liver organogenesis and hindbrain segmentation in zebrafish.
