Postdoctoral Research Associate (developmental haematopoiesis)
Posted by Alexander Medvinsky, on 29 March 2023
Location: Centre for Regenerative Medicine, University of Edinburgh, UK
Closing Date: 20 April 2023
A postdoctoral research associate position is available to work on analysis of mechanisms underlying endothelial-to-haematopoietic transition (EHT). You will use primary cell cultures and ES cells to explore effects of mechanical cues and signalling microenvironment on specification of the dorsal aorta and EHT. The study is built on long-standing expertise of Medvinsky’s group in the area of developmental haematopoiesis (https://www.ed.ac.uk/regenerative-medicine/research/alexander-medvinsky). Micropatterned substrates will be employed to enhance precision and manipulation of culture conditions (collaboration with Dr G. Blin’ group “Quantitative Biology of Pattern Formation”, https://www.ed.ac.uk/regenerative-medicine/research/guillaume-blin).
If you have expertise in developmental biology, cell signalling, cell culture and imaging please email Alexander Medvinsky (a.medvinsky{a}ed.ac.uk) including motivation letter and your CV. The position is available for 18 months with potential extension for 6 months.
