Posted by , on 17 July 2023

Job type: Postdoc

Location: University of Manchester

Closing Date: 3 August 2023

A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available to work on a project studying how signalling filopodia collect and transduce the BMP signal in Drosophila ovarian germline stem cells.

This project will build on our recent progress in this area (Wilcockson and Ashe, Dev Cell 2019) by using cutting-edge live imaging to explore the behaviour and functionality of these signalling filopodia.

The successful applicant will join Hilary Ashe’s lab to work on this BBSRC funded project, which represents a collaboration with Shukry Habib, Lausanne. For further details of research within the Ashe lab, see: https://ashelab.com/  You should hold or be working towards a PhD in a biological science, be highly motivated and have an interest in developmental signalling.  The position is available for 1 year.

Salary: £35,308 to £43,155

Closing Date: 3 August 2023

Scientific fields: Development and disease, Cell biology, Cell fate control and differentiation, Signalling, Patterning, Stem cells

Model systems: Drosophila
