Postdoctoral Research Associate in Gene Regulation/EvoDevo

A new postdoctoral position in Evolution and Development, funded by the BBSRC, is available for up to three years in Seb Shimeld’s lab at the University of Oxford. The project will focus on Hmx homeobox genes in neural development, following up our recent work (Hmx gene conservation identifies the origin of vertebrate cranial ganglia | Nature) on their function and regulation in vertebrates and invertebrates. It will combine lab experimental work with sequence data analysis across multiple species, including work with chicken embryos and the sea squirt Ciona.
