COMPUTATIONAL BIOLOGIST – NEUROGENOMICS
Posted by Sara Bizzotto, on 21 January 2025
Location: Paris
Closing Date: 30 April 2025
The team “Somatic mosaicism in neurodevelopment and disease” directed by Dr. Sara BIZZOTTO at Imagine Institute (Paris, France) is recruiting a computational biologist. The position is fully funded by an ERC StG for a duration of 4 years.
Our lab studies somatic mosaicism with the objective of understanding human central nervous system development and developmental disorders, with a special focus on cell lineages. For this, we apply state-of-the-art DNA-sequencing technologies, including single-cell sequencing, as well as single-cell (multi)omics, and computational biology. Our lab works in close collaboration with clinicians at the Necker pediatric hospital.
The PI has extensive experience in neurodevelopment and neurogenomics, and in somatic mosaicism applied to lineage tracing and brain disorders (Bizzotto et al., Science 2021; Ganz*, Luquette*, Bizzotto* et al., Cell 2024; Bizzotto and Walsh, Nat Rev Neurosci 2022; Bizzotto et al., Biorxiv 2024).
The position involves analysis of sequencing data, including bulk and single-cell, both DNA and RNA, and more precisely detection of somatic variants and study of cell phylogenies and somatic evolution. Candidates should have a computational biology background and be interested in neurodevelopment and neurogenomics.
Interested candidates please send 1) a complete CV, 2) a motivation letter, and 3) contact information for one or two references to sara.bizzotto@inserm.fr
Earliest starting date is April 2025. English is the working language, proficiency in French is not required.
