The Xiong lab at Gurdon institute, University of Cambridge is looking for motivated postdocs to join a vibrant and interdisciplinary team to study the mechanisms of force and mechanical property regulation in developing tissues, towards fundamental understanding of morphogenesis and informing developmental defects and tissue engineering.
The lab work on a variety of problems concerning morphogenesis in embryos. There is also an engineering and theory focus to build new quantitative tools to measure and control tissue mechanics. The primary model system is avian embryos while the lab also has access to other complementary models including invertebrates, zebrafish and mammalian organoids. The lab, institute and the University community provide an ideal training environment for developmental biologists aspired to acquire interdisciplinary skills and collaborations towards independent careers.
