Postdoctoral position INSERM lab Marseille France

We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow  to conduct research in cardiac developmental biology.  The successful candidate will hold a PhD (or be near completion) in a biology ( developmental biology).  The motivated candidate should have  a strong track record of independent research, excellent laboratory skills, and experience working with mice, including animal handling, experimental procedures, and colony management.

The project will uncover and characterize dysregulated biological pathways in a mouse model of a genetic disease both in embryonic and neonatal mouse heart and muscles. The project involves multiple technologies such as  spatial transcriptomics and single-cell RNA sequencing, HREM, light-sheet and confocal microscopy,  histology. The candidate will then test innovative therapeutic approaches to rescue the mouse phenotype.

The position is funded for 3 years and starts  from 1st June or later by 1st September 2026

About the institute:

The post is based within the Center of Cardiovascular and Nutrition research located at the Health Campus at Marseille (France)  in an INSERM team at  school of Pharmacy. The campus has all facilities  including a  large animal housing facility, and several imaging  facilities with all kinds of microscopy.  The hosting team is fully equipped including an HREM and features a strong record of publications in top journals
