The position
The Artegiani & Hendriks lab has a long-standing interest in developing and advancing human organoid models and to apply these to understand mechanisms of human development and various diseases. We have a core focus on the human liver and brain. In this position, we are looking for candidates that aim to advance human brain organoid models for disease modelling purposes, including (pediatric) brain cancer. Our lab uses a wide variety of techniques including human PSC/tissue-derived organoids, -omic analyses, advanced imaging tools, CRISPR/Cas tools, etc. The position is funded through the European Innovation Council (EIC) for 4 years.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates have recently completed (or are near completion of) their PhD, and have a background in molecular, cellular biology and/or stem cell and developmental biology. Bioinformatic skills is a pro but not a must. We are looking for a talented and highly motivated candidate, that is a passionate scientist and has leadership skills. We provide full support in the acquisition of independence for academic-oriented candidates. Our group is in the Princess Maxima Center in Utrecht. The environment is international, and the work language is English.
