How does RNA keep the immune system in check? Two PDRA positions available in Renshaw Lab, Sheffield

A new interdisciplinary programme at the University of Sheffield is investigating how the RNA-binding protein ELAVL1 shapes neutrophil behaviour during inflammation — combining primary human immune cells, zebrafish models and multiomics. We’re recruiting two Research Associates to build the team, one leading on wetlab, one leading on bioinformatics.

 

One programme, two entry points.

Both posts sit in Prof. Steve Renshaw’s lab and work on the same question — how post-transcriptional RNA regulation controls innate immune responses — but lead from different ends: one from the bench, one from the terminal. Wetlab-minded candidates who enjoy data are just as welcome on the bioinformatics post as computational candidates who enjoy the bench are on the wetlab post.
