Born & raised in Northern California, undergrad in Southern California (hello, Claremont Colleges!), where I learned science from the most amazing mentors. From there, I moved across the country for an NIH post-bac in structural biology and stayed on the east coast for a PhD in Genetics (germline development). While at Yale, I also taught scientific writing for 3 years, and hope to focus more on scientific writing in the future, which led me to a two-year Research Development Fellowship (writing grants and supporting paper writing and various professional development activities for the Greco and Reinke labs in Yale Genetics) and now being Assistant Director of Scientific Communication in Yale's Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning.
