2025 Chaste workshop on cell-based modelling

Posted by , on 4 October 2024

We are pleased to announce a workshop on cell-based modelling with Chaste, an open-source multi-scale framework for the computational modelling of biological systems.

The workshop will take place from 10am on Wed 8th to 5pm on Fri 10th January 2025 at the University of Nottingham.

This workshop is aimed at anyone with an interest in developing or learning more about multi-scale computational cell-based models. Participants at all career stages are welcome. In order to get the most out of the workshop, participants should have a working knowledge of C++ and some experience of mathematical modelling in the life sciences. On completion of the workshop, participants will be equipped with the skills to use Chaste to develop a simulation of a biological problem related to their own research.

Workshop Aims

  • Introduce participants to Chaste’s basic functionality.
  • Provide hands-on training on implementing simulations of model biological systems.
  • Provide hands-on training on PyChaste, the Python bindings for Chaste.
  • Exhibit the use of Chaste by various researchers in their work.
  • Guide participants on applying Chaste to novel problems, including participants’ own research.
  • Showcase the latest features that have been added to the Chaste codebase.

Admission to the workshop is free. There is also funding available to cover accommodation and travel within the UK for students and early career researchers. To attend, please fill out the registration form by 13th December 2024: forms.gle/yFd1JGaxyGzHyo4k6.

We look forward to your participation!
