COMPUTATIONAL BIOLOGIST – NEURODEGENERATION & ORGANOIDS

Posted by , on 2 May 2025

Location: Paris

Closing Date: 30 June 2025

The Mechanisms and Therapy of Genetic Brain Diseases team, led by Dr. Michela Deleidi at the Imagine Institute (Paris, France), is seeking a Computational Biologist to join an interdisciplinary research program focused on neurodegeneration.

Our laboratory develops advanced bioengineering systems—including human brain organoids and organ-on-chip platforms— to explore disease-relevant pathways in Parkinson’s disease. These models incorporate immune cells and are used to study the impact of infection and pharmacological perturbations on brain health.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic colleague with strong computational skills to analyze complex, high-dimensional datasets and contribute to data-driven discoveries. Your role will involve leveraging our unique models and datasets to uncover patterns of selective vulnerability, to stratify neurodegenerative diseases into molecular subtypes, and identify therapeutic targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze multi-omic datasets, including bulk RNA-seq, single-cell RNA-seq, and spatial transcriptomics
  • Work collaboratively with neuroscientists, neurologists, and cell biologists to design and execute data analysis workflows
  • Integrate public databases and computational tools to extract biologically meaningful insights

Profile

  • Background in bioinformatics, computational biology, or computer science
  • Interest in neuroscience, neurodegeneration, or neuroimmunology
  • Familiarity with high-throughput sequencing data analysis
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment

You will join a multidisciplinary team working on:

  • Molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration
  • Stem cell and organoid biology
  • Development of computational methods for neuroscience

To apply, please send:

  1. A complete CV
  2. A motivation letter
  3. Contact information for one or two references
