Faculty Position in Molecular Cell Biology at Wake Forest University

The Department of Biology at Wake Forest University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in molecular cell biology, with a start date of July 1, 2022. We are seeking candidates whose research program addresses fundamental aspects of eukaryotic cell biology in areas including, but not limited to, intracellular trafficking, cellular signaling, cell-cell interactions, organelle biology, cell metabolism, and gene expression. While preference is given to hiring at the Assistant Professor level, highly qualified individuals may be considered at the rank of Associate Professor.

 

Recruited faculty will join a collaborative community of teacher-scholars engaging in research spanning the tree of life from the biosphere to molecules. Information about research being conducted in the Biology Department can be found at biology.wfu.edu. Successful candidates will teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels with the opportunity to participate in the development of a new integrative graduate curriculum. Teaching loads are consistent with our high expectations for research. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to developing thriving, externally-funded research programs and engaging Ph.D., M.S., and undergraduate students in the laboratory and classroom. The Biology Department spans two campuses (Reynolda Campus and Wake Downtown) and offers both a Biology major and a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major. The department supports faculty and student research with excellent shared facilities including a vivarium, greenhouse, mass spectrometry facility, and two fully staffed, state-of-the art microscopy facilities. Faculty will also have the opportunity to form collaborations and affiliations within the adjacent Wake Forest School of Medicine including participation in the Molecular and Cellular Biosciences Ph.D. program.
