Location: Strasbourg
Closing Date: 31 May 2026
We are looking for an outstanding scientist to help us elucidate cellular trajectories and their derailments. We use a transparent live animal model, C. elegans. With its complete cell lineage and their position described, we can unambiguously follow defined unique cell’s trajectories, and our scRNA-seq data provide minute temporal resolution. This project, centered on defining the path & networks underlying reprogramming permissivity, at the unique cell level, is funded by and will benefit from 2 established networks: ANR-CellPath and Cell-ID, which provide a multi-teams interdisciplinary environment. In addition, our team is part of the Development & Stem Cells Department at the IGBMC in Strasbourg, France. This Research Institute (http://www.igbmc.fr) provides access to state-of-the-art facilities and a vibrant international research environment, and a rich scientific life (seminars, international meetings, scientific clubs, retreats, postdocs&students board, etc) – all in an international city, home of the European Parliament.
The successful candidate should have a PhD (or be in the final stages of completion) and be highly motivated with a strong interest in Developmental and Stem Cells Biology. The candidate should have bio-computing expertise (ie, R, Pyton and genomic analyses). The ability to work both independently and as a team member and experience in the use of molecular biology and genetic techniques are essential. Experience in working with C. elegans is a plus, but is not required. Note that a very good track record and at least one publication as a first author is required.
Applicants should email a cover letter with research interests, brief statement on their future goals, description of research experience, a CV as well as the contact info for 2-3 references to:
