Job type: Postdoc

Location: LYON-FRANCE

Closing Date: 31 May 2022

Project: Interested in direct lineage reprogramming of glial cells into induced neurons as a novel cell-based strategy for brain repair? Join a collaborative project to decipher the molecular programs of direct reprogramming in the framework of LabEx (Laboratory of Excellence) CORTEX between Christophe Heinrich (SBRI, Team: Cellular Reprogramming and Brain Repair), Mirjam Zeisel (CRCL, Team: Epigenetics, Microenvironment and Liver Cancer) & Julien Courchet (INMG, Team: Energy Metabolism and Neuronal Development). You will be working at the interface of neurosciences, cell biology, transcriptomics, and epigenetics. For more background, see Heinrich, Nature Cell Biol 2015; Courchet, Nat Commun, 2018; Vignoles, Trends Mol Med 2019; Hamdane, Gastroenterology 2019; Jühling, Gut 2021; Lentini, Cell Stem Cell 2021.

Environment: You will join a multidisciplinary team of scientists. The institutes benefit from state-of-the-art research platforms including Omics and Imaging, and provide a high-quality scientific, technological and medical environment.

Candidates: We are looking for an enthusiastic, interactive and highly motivated scientist holding a PhD and willing to join a challenging research area. Applicants are expected to have a strong background and proven track record in cell biology or neurosciences. Experience in working with cellular/molecular biology, scRNA-Seq, and/or ChiP-Seq will be valuable. Expertise in sequencing data analysis would be helpful. English proficiency is mandatory (French is a plus). Strong communication skills, team spirit and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team are expected.
