Postdoc in gene regulation, stem cells & mouse development

Posted by , on 20 September 2024

Location: London

Closing Date: 13 October 2024

Interested in how cells make decisions? Want to build new tools and model embryonic development using ESCs? Come join us as a postdoc in the Development & Transcriptional Control Group at the MRC LMS in London!

Our group investigates how regional identity is controlled during mouse development. In particular, we are interested in how CDX and HOX transcription factors ensure the right cell types form at the right position in the body plan. We leverage cutting-edge, genome engineering, and mouse embryonic stem cell differentiation techniques. These approaches are complemented by state-of-the art in vivo analyses we perform in mouse embryos, allowing us to tease out key principles underpinning regional identity in embryos (c.f. Amblard et al., 2024, recently featured in Furlanetto et al., 2024).

We are seeking to recruit a postdoc eager to apply their molecular biology expertise to dissect the principles underpinning regional identity in the mammalian body plan. The post would suit an experimentalist interested in gene regulation, ESC models of development, and/or neural crest development. You’ll be joining a vibrant group, based in a multidisciplinary environment supported by core facilities in a brand-new purpose-built building at the Hammersmith Hospital campus of Imperial.
