Postdoctoral position in gene therapy

We are recruiting a Research Associate to develop gene therapy for urofacial syndrome, a devastating genetic disease that affects autonomic function of the lower urinary tract.

You will join the Roberts research group, leading an MRC funded research project to run pre-clinical gene therapy trials in mouse models of urofacial syndrome. In this exciting interdisciplinary project you will undertake a range of activities including: the design of novel therapeutic AAV vectors, whole tissue physiology and imaging of treated organs, and single cell transcriptomic analysis of autonomic neurons and smooth muscle.

The Roberts laboratory is based in the Division of Cell Matrix Biology and Regenerative Medicine. The project has a full time research technician and you will also work closely with the adjacent laboratories of co-investigators Professor Woolf and Dr Williamson.

Salary: £36,024 - £39,347 per annum, depending on relevant experience

Start date: 1 October 2024
