Postdoctoral Research Fellow or PhD in Cardiovascular Genetics

A postdoctoral research fellow position is available in the laboratory of Gregor Andelfinger at the CHU Sainte Justine Research Center, Montréal, Québec, Canada. Our work focuses on the genetic mechanisms of pediatric cardiovascular diseases and includes genomics, cell biology, mouse models, and functional approaches.  This project is entirely focused on RASopathies, with the aims to understand developmental causes and elucidate novel therapeutic opportunities, with the help of mouse and hiPSC disease models. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to do interdisciplinary research at all interfaces from molecular and cellular biology to translational medicine, and publish their results in high impact journals.

We expect collaboration, motivation and independent thinking, and offer a supportive environment for learning and translational exposure. Experience with molecular and cellular biology, mouse models, confocal microscopy, and echocardiography is desired. Additional expertise in state-of-the art techniques (i.e., hiPSC culture, scRNAseq, bioinformatics analyses, pharmacology) will be an asset.

The successful candidate preferably has a recent Ph.D. degree in life sciences or a related field. We are seeking highly motivated researchers with excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Applications at Ph.D. level will also be considered.

The CHU Sainte Justine Research Center has a productive scientific community and recently moved into a brand-new building with required state-of-the-art infrastructure, including platforms for stem cell generation and gene editing, microscopy, and flow cytometry.
