Research Lab Manager in the Lesch and Sozen labs studying the genetics of mammalian reproduction and development in vivo and in vitro

Posted by , on 1 May 2022

Location: New Haven, USA

Closing Date: 30 June 2022

We are seeking a lab manager to support the Lesch and Sozen Groups (Yale University, Department of Genetics) who are working on the genetics of reproduction and development in mammals.

The successful applicant will be integral to daily lab management, and the post will have both administrative and research components. The former will involve the day-to-day supervision of laboratory operations and personnel. This will include managing research grants, procuring laboratory equipment & consumables, managing equipment & facilities, overseeing mouse colonies, health & safety responsibilities, communicating across the two research groups, and supporting research staff under the general direction of the Principal Investigators.

Research-related tasks will involve state-of-the-art biological techniques in developmental biology and cell culture, including human/mouse embryo and stem cell culture, molecular biology techniques, and general laboratory duties. The successful applicant will have the chance to assist with research projects that involve substantial “hands-on” work. They will need to multi-task across various projects across the labs and will have an opportunity to carry out their own research projects.

The applicant should have completed undergraduate or post-graduate studies in the biological sciences and have a strong desire to contribute to research.

Please send your resume and cover letter to both Bluma Lesch (bluma.lesch@yale.edu) and Berna Sozen (berna.sozen@yale.edu) to apply for this position.
