Two post-doctoral positions, EvoDevo and epigenetics (QMUL, London, UK)

Two open post-doctoral positions in the laboratory of Dr. Alex de Mendoza at Queen Mary University of London (United Kingdom). These are European Research Council funded positions under the project METHYLEVOL, aimed at understanding the evolution of DNA methylation in animals and other eukaryotes. Both positions are for 2 years and can be extended.

For one of the postdoctoral positions, experience in molecular biology of cnidarian model systems (specifically Nematostella vectensis) is highly desired, including lab culture, genetic manipulation, spawning. Alternatively, experience in functional embryology of other non conventional model systems is also great. Bioinformatics experience would be a plus, but this can be part of the training in the laboratory. See more details here:

For the other position, the candidate should have previous experience in bioinformatics, epigenomics, genome-analysis of gene regulation, molecular evolution, and molecular biology techniques. Knowledge about Transposable Elements would be beneficial. See more details here:
