PhD position: Biophysical explorations of neural crest cell behaviours in development and cancer
Posted by Karen Liu, on 4 April 2024
Location: London, United Kingdom
Closing Date: 30 September 2024
Fully funded PhD project on phosphorylations in mammalian neural crest. Collaboration between Prof Karen Liu and Prof Rivka Isaacson as part of the Centre for the Physical Science of Life at King’s College London.
The host laboratories and key collaborators offer a wide range of research skills including biophysical modelling, biochemistry, cell biology, genetics and confocal live microscopy. We will use an integrated combination of these techniques to identify and characterise key substrates of GSK3 at the organism, tissue, cell and molecular levels, with a particular emphasis on exploring the pathological interactions of GSK3 with ALK, which hyperactivates GSK3 in cancer settings.
The current recruitment round deadlines are:
• Wednesday 17th April 2024
• Friday 10th May 2024
Interviews will take place on a rolling basis.
Closing Date: 30 September 2024
Scientific fields: Development and disease, Cell biology, Early embryogenesis, Quantitative biology and modelling
Model systems: Human, Mouse, Cell culture
