GRC Fibronectin, Integrins and Related Molecules

Posted by , on 11 September 2024

The Fibronectin, Integrins and Related Molecules GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes a diverse range of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.

The 2025 Gordon Research Conference on Fibronectin, Integrins and Related Molecules will be held on May 4–9 at the Renaissance Tuscany Il Ciocco, Italy. This is the foremost international conference for academic, government and industry scientists interested in understanding how integrins and related adhesion receptors act in combination with the extracellular matrix to regulate many aspects of cell and tissue function. The program spans fundamental areas of biology – cell and developmental biology, tissue engineering, the etiology of disease, structural biology, mechanobiology, system biology, cancer research, and immunology. The theme of the 2025 year’s meeting will be “from molecules to the whole organism”. Sessions will represent the interdisciplinary nature of the integrin and extracellular matrix field: cutting edge imaging, structural biology and structure-function analysis of integrins and their associated molecules, cytoskeletal and adhesion dynamics, cell migration, model organism research, cancer and inflammation, protein trafficking and membrane dynamics, mechanobiology, cell signaling, Cell-Matrix adhesion in tissue morphogenesis, stem cell biology, organoids, and tissue engineering.

The conference will highlight exciting unpublished data and stimulate active discussion among all participants. To complement the program of invited speakers, the conference will include 10-15 short talks selected from abstracts and four poster sessions. Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows are encouraged to apply to the associated Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) which precedes the GRC.
