Former molecular immunologist, PhD at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, postdoc with Michael Neuberger and then Mike Bishop, ran a lab at the Institute of Cancer Research for 20 years until 2009. Since 2009, freelance science writer, events organiser and general science enthusiast. 2013 - started a (part time) job at Cancer Research UK HQ, providing science information for the Create the Change fundraising campaign, which aims to raise £100M for the Francis Crick Institute. Still hoping to write another book though!
