Biography:
Professor in the Department of Genetics at the University of Barcelona. My lab is interested in EvoDevo and Genomics, specially in the impact of Gene Loss on the Evolution of the Mechanisms of Development. Our favorite animal model is Oikopleura dioca, and or main research line study heart and muscle development, tail elongation and the evolution of gene regulatory signalling networks. You can have a tiur on our post on TheNode "One day in our lab" https://thenode.biologists.com/day-life-oikopleura-lab/lablife/ Recently, we have started and EcoEvoDevo adventure, trying to understand how the mechanisms of development of marine embryos are ready to respond to climate change.
