I am Professor of Mathematical Biology at Leiden University, the Netherlands, where I am embedded both in the Mathematical Institute and in the Institute of Biology Leiden. I run a mathematical biology lab working on multicellular modeling of angiogenesis, mechanical cell-ECM interactions and mechanobiology of plant development. Alongside this mathematical modelling work, I run an experimental research line to test and further develop our mathematical models of angiogenesis, using cell cultures and zebrafish as model system.
