GRC Central Nervous System Injury and Repair

Posted by , on 11 September 2024

The Central Nervous System Injury and Repair GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes a diverse range of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.

This Gordon Research Conference (GRC) series along with the accompanying Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) provides a forum for the exchange of the most exciting and up-to-date scientific data and novel ideas in the rapidly advancing field of CNS injury and repair, with a focus on the spinal cord. Spinal cord injury presents a major unmet medical need and exemplifies many of the challenges in dysfunctions of the central nervous system (CNS). The complexity of spinal cord injury calls for a multi-pronged approach to understand and tackle this neurological condition. The conference will feature an exciting program with speakers presenting innovative research topics ranging from neuroprotective, neuroregenerative, neuromodulatory, neurotechnological and other strategies. A one-day GRS preceding the GRC will provide an excellent opportunity for predoc and postdoc trainees to connect and share research progress. We welcome attendance from basic and physician scientists, industry, and any stakeholder, and we encourage a breath of diversity of meeting participants across gender, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, geographical locations, and age groups that will facilitate a broad and enriched communication of the scientific content.
