Full Professor Position for Animal Physiology
(W3 salary scale, to be filled by the earliest possible date)
Applicants should have a strong and internationally visible background and research programme with a focus on physiological processes in animals. They should also have a strong track record in teaching and obtaining external research funding.
It is expected that the successful candidate will engage with the existing research networks within the faculty, such as the Collaborative Research Center (SFB) 1348 „Dynamic Cellular Interfaces – Formation and Function“ and SFB–TRR 212 „NC3“. A willingness to work with graduate schools and research facilities, such as the „Multiscale Imaging Centre“, the „Cells-in-Motion Interfaculty Centre“ or the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine is also encouraged.
The successful applicant will be expected to take an active interest in and be able to foster the development of new, interdisciplinary structures and to actively participate in shaping the newly founded Institute for Integrative Cell Biology and Physiology. They will be expected to teach across the entire field of animal physiology. An active and appropriate participation in the teaching duties of the Faculty of Biology at both the BSc and MSc levels is expected, as is an appropriate level of self-management and contribution to departmental administration.
Prerequisite for the application are academic achievements made as a Juniorprofessor, in a Habilitation (postdoctoral qualification), as a member of the academic staff of a university or non-university research institute, or in a research position in business, industry, administration or other relevant fields in Germany or abroad.
