Postdoctoral position in Developmental Neurobiology

The Poulain lab (www.poulainlab.org) at the University of South Carolina is searching for a talented and motivated postdoc! Our NIH-funded research program focuses on the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying neural circuit formation and maintenance in vivo. We use the zebrafish visual system as a model and a unique combination of genetic, embryological and high resolution live imaging approaches to test the role of selective axon degeneration in circuit wiring and the contribution of trans-axonal signaling to retinotopic map formation and maintenance. Candidates should hold a PhD in neurobiology, cell and molecular biology, or related fields, and have a strong interest in neural development. Significant experience in molecular biology, genetics and fluorescence imaging approaches is required. Experience with zebrafish is desired but not mandatory.
