Transgenic tools developer/engineer

The Averof team, at the Institut de Génomique Fonctionnelle de Lyon (IGFL), France, is recruiting a research scientist/engineer to develop new transgenic tools in the crustacean Parhyale hawaiensis. The team studies leg regeneration in Parhyale, using a combination of live imaging, transcriptomic and genetic approaches. We have established a range of transgenic markers and tools in this species. We are currently developing efficient CRISPR knock-in approaches and establishing a range of transgenic reporters, to label diverse cell types and to identify cis-regulatory elements that are active during leg development and regeneration. This effort requires streamlining our transgenesis and CRISPR KI procedures to generate transgenic lines on a larger scale. We also aim to develop transgenic tools for gene mis-expression (e.g. LexPR), mosaic labelling (e.g. Brainbow, Raeppli), conditional cell ablation, etc. The recruited developer/engineer will spearhead this effort, both as a manager and a hands-on experimenter.
