Emerging Leaders Research Fellow

Posted by , on 28 November 2023

Location: Oxford Brookes University - Department of Biological and Medical Sciences

Closing Date: 4 January 2024

This is an exciting opportunity to develop an independent research group through a five-year research Fellowship. We are looking for a driven early-career researcher with a track record in biological sciences. Your research should complement our current portfolio (see https://www.brookes.ac.uk/bms/research) but offer opportunities to expand our expertise.

In particular, we are looking for researchers who use and apply -omics technologies and/or microscopy methods to further our understanding of fundamental cellular processes or population structures.
We are specifically interested in attracting researchers in the following areas: gene regulation, cellular signaling and communication, sensory systems and neuroscience, protein synthesis and transport, animal conservation and molecular parasitology.

Under this scheme, you will be provided with a 5-year research only post providing long-term, flexible support to develop an independent research career. We provide high-quality professional development and networking opportunities as well as competitive internal pump-priming and research funding and fully funded studentships.

Research in the department is supported by our Centres for Bioimaging and Functional Genomics which house cutting edge equipment. We are part of the Euro-bioimaging network and play an active role in University cross-departmental research networks.

As a Disability Confident Employer, we guarantee to interview any disabled applicant who meets the essential selection criteria.

Interviews are expected to take place in January/February 2024.
