A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Vidigal lab, at NIH (USA). Our lab aims to understand how small RNA pathways centered on Argonaute (AGO) proteins regulate mammalian physiology with a strong focus on mouse genetics. Current projects seek to define the regulation of AGO proteins in vivo and the mechanistic details through which they impact mouse development, homeostasis, and disease. In an exciting new area of research, the Vidigal lab is exploring how the functions of AGO2 are regulated between proliferating and quiescent cells as well as the requirement for direct RNA cleavage by AGO2 in quiescence through its conserved but poorly understood catalytic domain.

Who you are:

  • You share our enthusiasm for RNA biology, post-transcriptional gene regulation, and mouse genetics.
  • You have PhD-experience in one or more of the following: mouse development/tumorigenesis or immunology, RNA biology, massively parallel sequencing-based techniques, or bioinformatics.
