Postdoctoral Position in London – Wong Lab, Department of Cell and Developmental Biology, University College London, UK

Posted by , on 9 January 2022

Location: University College London, United Kingdom

Closing Date: 2 February 2022

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the group of Mie Wong in the Research Department of Cell and Developmental Biology, University College London, UK.

Our lab studies how moving cells shape the developing embryo. We are especially interested in understanding the interplay between extrinsic signals and collective cell behaviours in establishing and maintaining the directionality of cell migration during development. As model we use the lateral line, a system of sensory organs found in aquatic vertebrates including the zebrafish. In the lab we employ interdisciplinary approaches including genetic, chemical and optical manipulations combined with advanced quantitative imaging, mass spectrometry and mathematical modelling.

Interested applicants will have a PhD (or be studying towards it) in Cell, Developmental or Computational Biology or a related discipline.

The successful applicant will become an active member of the Wong group and the larger zebrafish community at UCL http://zebrafishucl.org/ that enable daily discussions and active collaborations with colleagues with broad interests, and have access to all the cutting edge core facilities that UCL has to offer.
