The Nascone-Yoder lab in the Department of Molecular Biomedical Sciences at North Carolina State University is seeking a Research Associate/ Lab Manager.

The lab uses the Xenopus model to study the mechanisms of left-right asymmetric organ development and laterality-related birth defects.

The Research Associate will utilize a variety of techniques including microdissection and explant culture, microinjection, in situ hybridization, cryosectioning, immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy, exposure to pharmacological reagents and environmental toxins, transcriptomics, metabolomics, whole exome sequencing from human birth defect patients, biomechanics and computational modeling.

The successful candidate will also oversee the day-to-day operations of the lab and be a key contributor who assists in the development of research projects and hypotheses, compiles figures and text for publication and grant submissions, facilitates collaboration across disciplines, and supervises junior lab members.
