Job type: Scientific Curator

Location: Cincinnati Children's Hospital Research Foundation

Closing Date: 31 December 2021

Xenbase (www.xenbase.org), the Xenopus model organism database, has 2 open positions for scientific curators. We are looking for motivated, collaborative individuals with backgrounds in developmental biology, genomics/bioinformatics, genetics, molecular biology, zoology, and/or anatomy to join our curation team, based in Cincinnati OH, USA.

Biocuration offers a challenging scientific career away from the wet-lab and research bench. A curators main task is to curate and integrate genomics and other data published in Xenopus literature (eg., phenotypes and models of human disease, gene expression, genetic interactions, molecular function (GO), and reagents (such as transgenic constructs, antibodies, MOs, gRNAs) making all of this information available in an easy to digest format, which in turn supports data exchanges with other databases (eg., NCBI, EBI, UniProt).
