Postdoc Position in Biomaterials and Muscle Stem Cell Engineering – Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai NYC

The Han Lab for Cell-Instructive Biomaterials & Regenerative Engineering at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai applies multi-disciplinary approaches to study cell-matrix interactions and engineer cell-instructive biomaterials for musculoskeletal regeneration. The Han lab is a member of Orthopaedic Research Laboratories (ORL) and the Black Family Stem Cell Institute at Mount Sinai, NYC.

We are hiring a postdoctoral fellow to join our team!

Details: The candidate will spearhead our efforts to engineer a biomaterial-based platform for skeletal muscle stem cell manufacturing. The candidate will gain in-depth technical experience in animal models, primary cell isolation, biomaterials synthesis, mechanical characterization of cells & biomaterials across multiple length scales. The candidate is expected to present data in meetings and conferences. Manuscript writing is also expected.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, bioengineering, biomedical sciences, or related science/engineering disciplines. A strong background in biomaterial engineering and/or stem cell biology is required. Experiences in skeletal muscle and/or mouse models are desired but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
