  1. Congratulations to Chris Wylie! Indirectly, he launched my career in antisense. I started with Gene Tools at the end of 1999 and we became a viable business when Steve Ekker extended Chris’s work from Xenopus to zebrafish and then announced his success at phenocopying known mutations to the zebrafish community; the poster describing Steve’s phenocopying experiments initiated steady demand for Morpholinos. Without Chris’s pioneering work inspiring Steve’s experiments, Gene Tools would likely have focused on serving the cell biology community for tissue culture knockdowns and may not have survived its first decade. Thanks Chris!
